Some of you Explorers truly are gluttons for punishment! I mean, really. It’s not enough that we sent you across the universe in a shoddily-made, poorly-maintained, rusted out husk of a ship and provided you with none of the equipment you’d need for your mission or even THE FUEL TO GO HOME? Man of you seem to want this already deeply traumatic experience to be even harder?

Well, fine! We’ll give it to you even harder! Brace yourselves for the advent of OLD GAME MINUS. With this soon to be released all-new game mode, you can once again experience the trials and tribulations of exploring AR-Y 26, this time with a limited pool of lives. Yeah, that’s right. Your ship is even crappier and will allow only three reprints. Your goal is to make your way to the final boss, beat it, and then find the needed fuel to return home.

And if you run out of lives? Too bad! Get lost! Coffee’s for closers! Your file is wiped and you can start over. Hard enough now?Alright, alright. I got a little worked up. Maybe that’s a little too spicy. To ease that pain just a little bit more, we’ve also hidden a few extra lives in the world, one per area. They’re going to look like Martin Tweed bobbleheads, because billionaires are better than us and we should thank them everyday for their generosity and mercy!

And since this is an “old school” mode, we’ve also hidden one special extra life for gamers who know the ultimate retro game secret. Also, we’re going to add a timer. Don’t worry: It’s counting up, not down, so it shouldn’t increase the difficulty. I mean, it might if the constant reminder of time’s passage is enough to send you into an existential death spiral. That might make it harder. Otherwise it’s just a means for the speed-minded player to keep track of their progress as they strive to set a new PB.So what do you think? Are you up to the challenge? Have you already managed to git gud and yearn to show the world how gud you truly are? Give OLD GAME MINUS a try! We’ll be here to let you know when you can get your hands on it, but expect it soon. Once again, Kindred thanks you for your hard work and dedication. Stay alive and stay safe!
